Legendary Alaska MASTER Guide and Outfitter, Gary "Butch" KingGary “Butch” King Jr., born in Alaska before statehood, began guiding at age 12 and spent more than five decades shaping Alaska’s modern hunting legacy. A Master Guide, lifelong bush pilot, and former President of the Alaska Professional Hunters Association, Butch guided hunters across millions of acres of the Alaska Peninsula and led them to some of the world’s most celebrated brown bear and moose trophies. In 2023, he and his wife Kathy passed on Wildman Lodge, preserving a tradition built on integrity, stewardship, and adventure.
